A new generation of mobile communication – 5G – is going to be 100 times faster than 4G. Can you imagine?
Faster data transfer to the phone, improved use of the radio band and ability to have a simultaneous access to the Internet for more devices will lead to advances in AI (Artificial Intelligence) and a huge progress in other spheres that have demonstrated impact on global businesses.
5G will hit the market in 2020. By 2025, there will be 1.5 billion 5G subscriptions (the overall amount of connections to any mobile data plan accounts for 8.9 billion).

For the travel sector, the launch of 5G will mean the following.
According to CEO of Enseo, in the next 3-5 years, we should wait for a dynamic 5G launch in most megapolis. “Hoteliers should already focus on “smart” investments and channel finances to IoT (Internet of Things) devices for smart rooms that will still be relevant even when 5G is at full blast. Also, event organizers should establish contacts with hotel business professionals (or sales teams), so that the latter can offer a technologically modern location for a business event that meets the needs and requirements of guests.
“For example, having invited a participant to a conference, you will need to make sure that he can set the temperature in the room before his arrival, pre-select refreshment in the room, select the view, and so on. But in reality, this is more than just the ability to download Avengers in the blink of an eye.

Among the positive aspects of using technological innovations during events and business meetings it is possible to identify increased bandwidth and reduced latency that will enable using of virtual and augmented reality during the event. Using Wi-Fi, at least during small events and meetings, won’t be necessary.
The use of mobile phones with other devices will enable real-time navigation and personalization. Moreover, new ways of digital interaction with visitors will appear.
“5G will make broadcasting of online content and real-time interaction more effective during large interactive sessions”, considers Brian Friedman, vice president of digital innovation at Aventri.
“This new generation of mobile Internet is much faster than 4G and it is designed specifically to support 3D content for AR and VR,” he says. “I suppose that new impressive technologies will not be limited by the quality of communication. It will take some time before the event organizers begin to trust and actively use 5G solutions. In any case, physical and digital worlds will be united soon”.
